Medical Equipment Alarm Movement ? Necessary & UsefulThe medical equipment alarm movement has grown in strength and popularity over the past years. With more and more people needing monitoring on an hourly basis and being able to afford it, the medical alarm equipment industry is growing at a rapid pace. The medical equipment alarm movement and the medical alarm equipment are useful for the old, disabled people, the sick, the elderly living alone and those with a history of falling. The medical alarm equipment is also known as PERS, Personal Emergency Response System and that is exactly what the alarm does. The medical equipment alarm movement works by giving an alert about an emergency and enables medical help to reach immediately. In a medical equipment alarm movement, the typical medical alarm equipment comprises of a transmitter, which can be activated during an emergency. As technology is so advanced, the transmitter can be worn like a wrist watch, bracelet or a pendant by the person conveniently. It is very light in weight and comfortable to wear. Some companies involved in medical equipment alarm movement have even come out with medical alarm jewelry. Most of the time, the transmitter is also water proof. Any person, who finds himself in an emergency situation, has to just press a button on the bracelet or pendant. When you press the button, a signal is sent to the central station of the alarm monitoring company. This station is connected to the person facing the emergency by telephone and contains a highly sensitive microphone and speaker unit. Moreover, when the button is pressed, all the details about the person like address, medical condition, family members and neighbors to be contacted during an emergency, are displayed and so the personnel from the base station can swing into action immediately. Some companies involved in medical equipment alarm movement also have a two way voice feature, through which the personnel can talk to the person and find out the nature of the emergency. Most of the medical alarm equipment has back up batteries so even if there is a power failure or a black out, the equipment does not fail. Along with this equipment, there are many types of accessories that can be used like fall sensors, motion detectors and smoke detectors. There are two types of medical alarm equipment – the active alarm and the passive alarm. In the active alarm system, the button is pressed and emergency medical help arrives. In the case of the passive alarm which is sometimes also called a safety clock, the user has to activate the button at regular intervals to confirm that he is well. If there is no confirmation for a long time, a telephone call is placed to ensure that everything is okay or someone is sent to check if things are alright. |
